This website from Shambles holds around 1500 websites grouped into many topics. Although designed for the international schools in S.E. Asia there are many of use to UK schools including mini-beasts, volcanoes, the rainforest and loads more.

Spelling

Some good websites this week to practise spelling. SpellingCity.com lets you type in your words, then teaches you the words and lets you play games with the words. It also contains over 30,000 words, including plurals, contractions, past and future tenses and uses a real person's voice to say the word and use the word in a sentence.

Sightwords with Samson includes lots of classroom activities for the smartboard and also lets pupils learn, build and identify words before taking a quiz.

Internet Safety

The Golden Rules for internet safety have been in the news this week.
Becta has produced a free publication: Signposts to safety: Teaching e-safety at Key Stages 1 and 2 and there are games for ages 5-7 and ages 8-12 from ThinkUknow to reinforce internet safety.
